Therapy for OCD
I have seen the agony in the eyes of countless parents when they bring in their children looking for answers and help to treat their children's obsessive compulsive disorder. The repetitive behavior from a child begins to interfere with daily functioning which promotes much anxiety to them. Many discover that obsessive compulsions go hand in hand with anxiety. Treating the OCD issues typically reduces the level of anxiety a child is experiencing. Through therapy, children learn alternative methods to cope to decrease the obsessive compulsive behaviors.
I can help your child learn to:
Control his or her excessive thoughts and behaviors
Eliminate the anxiety that comes from obsessive fears
Identify OCD triggers and master reactions to them
Take pleasure in things he or she used to enjoy
Reduce compulsive handwashing, arranging things, counting, hoarding, and other rituals
