Therapy for ADHD

So  your son or daughter has been diagnosed or you suspect he or she has ADHD. That's nothing to be ashamed of. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) more than eleven percent of all American children between the ages of 4 - 17 have some form of ADHD. The good news is that there are numerous treatment options that together can help children learn to manage their ADHD and lead productive and fulfilling lives.

When working with a child who has ADHD, it’s important to assist both the child and the parent(s) in adopting new skills and techniques for learning and finding the right tools to use during class time and homework to reduce distractions.

I can help your child learn to:

  • Stay focused in order to complete tasks

  • Hold back emotional outbursts

  • Minimize school disruptions

  • Sensor comments in social settings

  • Refocus energy into positive activities

  • Understand and accept ADHD as part of what makes him or her unique

  • Remove sense of shame
